Configuring Jabber automatic sign-in settings


Mac

To enable automatic sign-on in Jabber for Mac:
  1. Open Cisco Jabber and enter the username and password for the user to be automatically signed in.
  2. Before clicking ‘Sign in’ as usual, check the box for ‘Remember password in keychain’ directly underneath the password field.
  3. After checking this box, the checkbox for ‘Automatically sign in as: <username>’ will become available to check underneath and to the left of the server field. Check this box and click ‘Sign In’.  

To disable automatic sign-in in Jabber for Mac:
  1. Open Cisco Jabber and navigate to Jabber> Preferences.
  2. In the General Preferences dialog that appears, uncheck ‘Automatically sign in as: <Username>.


You can choose to leave ‘Remember the password for this profile in keychain’ checked to allow the username and password to be pre-populated during future Jabber starts. If ‘Remember the password for this profile in keychain’ is also unchecked, only the username will be pre-populated during future Jabber launches.


Windows

To enable automatic sign-on in Jabber for Windows:
  1. Open Cisco Jabber and enter the username and password for the user to automatically be signed in.
  2. Before clicking ‘Sign in’’,check the box for ‘Sign me in when Jabber starts’
  3. Click ‘Sign in’.

To disable automatic sign-on in Jabber for Windows:
  1. While logged into Jabber, from the menu, select File and click Sign out.
  2. At the Jabber logon screen, click the checkbox for  ‘Sign me in when Jabber starts’ so that the box is unchecked.
  3. Click “Sign in” to save the settings. for the setting to save.
